UPDATE! Stargate Pops! are now available to pre-order at Amazon and Entertainment Earth, with a July 8 release date. See all the official pictures here!

Stargate fans, the long-awaited day has come! After years of pestering studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer for officially licensed Stargate Pop! figures, today we got our first look at the debut wave of five adorable statues.

As we previously reported the first Stargate Pops will feature characters from Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin’s original Stargate feature film. Five statues will be released this summer: Colonel Jack O’Neill (yes, that box should technically have one L!), Dr. Daniel Jackson, the sinister Ra, and his intimidating alien soldiers Horus and Anubis.

These are part of the “Pop! Movies” collection, numbered 1572 through 1576. Jack O’Neill is striking an action pose with a staff weapon ready to fire, while Daniel Jackson is sporting the Eye of Ra amulet he received from Catherine Langford. The Anubis and Horus guards are also holding staff weapons.

Funko POP News! says that pre-orders for the Stargate line will go live this week. Figures typically retail for around $11.99 each, though no pricing for Stargate has been announced yet. We’ll let you know when you can order them for your collection!

MGM historically has treated the 1994 movie, SG-1, Atlantis, and SGU as separate licenses but often bundles them together with new licensees. It is common for Stargate licensees to begin with the original feature film, and (assuming there is some success in the sales department) to move on from there to the TV universe. So we are anticipating that SG-1 characters like Teal’c and Samantha Carter — as well as the TV portrayals of Jack and Daniel — will make an appearance shortly.
